Film meets Electro
Vasko Pregelj is one of the most extraordinary Slovenian experimental filmmakers of the late 1960s. His works are characterized by a dark, grotesque, baroque-surrealist aesthetic that draws on both the formal experiments of the historical avant-garde and the emotional depth of later cinematic movements. In his films, abstract visual compositions merge with poetic, often melancholic moods that make intimate emotional worlds vividly tangible.
As only two of the five films presented have been preserved in their original soundtracks, the soundtracks of the remaining works will be reinterpreted in a unique live performance by Tine Vrabič aka Nitz. The artist uses samples from existing recordings and reshapes them in a contemporary ambient style. This preserves the original musical imprint while creating a new sonic dimension that places Pregelj's experimental visual language in a modern context.
