In dieser interdisziplinären Performance treffen Vasko Pregeljs düster-groteske Experimentalfilme der 1960er Jahre auf ein Live-Set des Musikers Tine Vrabič aka Nitz, der die überliefertenTonspuren der Originalfilme neu interpretiert und in einen zeitgenössischen Ambient-Stil transformiert. Diese Fusion aus Film und Live-Musik schafft eine immersive audiovisuelle Erfahrung und würdigt die kreative Vision beider Künstler.

Film trifft auf Electro
Vasko Pregelj zählt zu den außergewöhnlichsten slowenischen Experimentalfilmemachern der späten 1960er Jahre. Seine Werke zeichnen sich durch eine düster-groteske, barocksurrealistische Ästhetik aus, die sowohl die formalen Experimente der historischen Avantgarde als auch die emotionale Tiefe späterer filmischer Strömungen aufgreift. In seinen Filmen verschmelzen abstrakte Bildkompositionen mit poetischen, oft melancholischen Stimmungen, die intime Gefühlswelten auf eindringliche Weise erfahrbar machen.
Da nur zwei der fünf präsentierten Filme in ihrer Originalvertonung erhalten geblieben sind, wird die Tonspur der restlichen Werke in einer einzigartigen Live-Performance von Tine Vrabič aka Nitz neu interpretiert. Der Künstler nutzt Samples bestehender Aufnahmen und formt sie in einem zeitgenössischen Ambient-Stil um. Dabei bleibt der ursprüngliche musikalische Abdruck erhalten, während gleichzeitig eine neue klangliche Dimension geschaffen wird, die Pregeljs experimentelle Bildsprache in einen modernen Kontext setzt.
Tine Vrabič aka Nitz hat sich in den letzten zehn Jahren als einer der wichtigsten Vertreter der slowenischen Elektro-Szene etabliert. Er produziert eigene Musik und tritt live auf bedeutenden Festivals und Veranstaltungen auf. Als ehemaliger langjähriger Programmleiter des Clubs K4 in Ljubljana ist er ein erfahrener DJ mit regelmäßigen Auftritten in renommierten europäischen Clubs.
